SOMMARN SNURRAR FORT NÄR VI BARA SNÖAR BORT

Where to even start. I've been doing so much it feels like much more than a week since last time. So monday I had my very last exam - the oral part of drama. It was so fun to listen to everyone else and see their otfits. I think my monologue went well, it was a little too short, but I didn't need her to tell me my lines and I was very convincing as creepy crazy scientist.

Then tuesday I enjoyed my first free day, and went out with Annun and a few others. Afterwards we sat around in GDE's room and talked to the people. (GDE= gouvernement de l'école). We also got to kidnap some school logos and apparently people found my blog and this one guy was overly excited about being mentiond (he sold me the patriot t-shirt), but he wanted to be named so - hi McKensie :)

Wednesday everyone else had their last exam (I had some 12th grade courses so mine started earlier) so almost everyone in my grade (11) and some of the grade 10s went to the beach and hang out. Really nice!!

Thursday morning I went picking flowetrs back in the bush, which resulted in a whole lot of mosqito bites, and some weird burn looking thingies. I than made midsommarkransar and around two my parents came! So I've had a couple of days with them. It was really nice seeing them aaaaand, they brought me an empty bag ;) haha I'm such a loving daughter eh?

So thursday evening we went out for supper with Julie and her parents, then my parents dropped me off at Natasha's where me and Annun stayed the night, and then in the morning we all went to Calypso, which is a water park in Ottawa. I thought I was gonna die so many times, but I did do everything - I'm proud of myself. We went on one where you got into a chest almost, it was standing up, and then once you're in there and it's closed the floor goes away and you just drop. Scary as hell. Amazing day!

When we got back, we had traditional swedish midsummer with sill och potäter och dans runt stången och hela köret. Explaining it to someone who don't know what it is, let me tell you it sounds crazy. "And the you jump around pretending you're a frog"
Jake got one too
Annun and her sister
Welcome to the country side eh!!

(Yo I legit take so many pauses when I write my blog posts, I've been sitting here for like an hour and a half...)

So anyways, friday night was the last time we saw pretty much all of the grade 12s, and it was really really sad to say bye to Julie :(

Saturday we (me, my parents, Norma and Kolby) went to old Montréal. We ate lunch at a really cute place, and we walked around and looked at stuff, it was really nice. At night Norma and Alan went to a wedding reception, so me and my mother test packed my bags. So my big purple one is now full and has the maximum weight. I've collected a whole bunch of weird things over the year, half of it for my scrap book haha.

This I took my mother for a run back in the bush, and we realised halfways that the pups had been following us, but they were good and didn't run off. At ten-ish we went to Philos, and afterwards my parents left, and we went to Sarah's baby shower. Sarah is Norma's best friedns's daughter, and they usually both come to Philos too, they also have exchange students. The place was so pretty and the decorations were adorable. I sat with Hannah and Rebecca (their exchange students) and while talking we figured out we only have ten days left in Canada. TEN. Like omg where did the time go.

So yeah, I'm trying to do as much as I can, and just cherish my last few days. Le Canada, il me manquerais!

DEEP INSIDE YOU'RE GROWING STRONG

So this week's been exam week. Started off wednesday with politics, then written drama thursday morning and then socio in the afternoon. Friday was physics. I'm pretty sure I passed all of them, there were some questions that I whinged, but in general it went well. The only thing I do not get is why the teachers are so keen on having the students write a long paragraph about what we learnt in class. The worst was socio were the last question was write a three page essay - complete with intro, développement et conclusion - about what you learnt and how you will be able to apply it in your future life. I can write in french, and I can bullshit, but bullshittig in french? Kill me know. But I sqeezed in some thériciens and some stuff so hopefully, I'll be good, and even if I'm not, my average before exams is good enough so I'll pass the course anyways.

Tomorrow I have my last exam, the acting part of drama. We had to write a 300-350 word monologue, learn it by heart and then perform it with as much spirit and into the character as we possibly can. I'mma be a crazy scientist taking over the world. Nothing new there eh? ;)

So anyways. Friday after exams, we (me, Annun and Em) went over to Trist's place, made cookies and sat outside in the sun talking, until Annun's parents came. Yep, they're here now. My own parents are coming here to Cornwall on thursday (or if it was wednesday...), they left Sweden today which mustve been yesterday swedish time by now.

Today it was Father's Day here in Canada, so being so very original as I am (or not) I picked flowers. It's the thought that counts.

Yesterday I was over at Annuns and it really felt like summer. We swam in the pool, lay some on the mattress tanning (reslut=my stomach is red), went for a walk and found some wild strawberries. She had never before made a wild strawberry-straw so I introduced her to that. They do taste better eaten off a straw. Then we baked some cookies, sat and talked and then we thought we'd just lay on the mattress again without going in but obviously that didn't work out... So we swam arounf some more, this time in our clothes. At night my host parents picked us up and we all went over to Alan's brother's and had a bonfire, so now I've made real smores on a real bonfire.

Kelsey was home durng the week too, which was really nice. We're most likely gonna go up to Algonquin park where she works when my parents come here.

Well anyways, I don't really have any pictures from this week, so I guess this is it.

VI KOMMER ALDRIG, ALDRIG ATT FÖLORA

To think this is my fourth last blog post. It's getting real. I've started walking around taking pictures of the school and my teachers. I only need to find DJ tomorrow, then I have them all. I have my first exam wednesday, and I've actually started to study a bit for my exams (needless to say, most for the one I have last...) Since my grades here doesn't transfer, I can tell you my motivation is pretty low.

So these are my locker buddies! Sam, Mark and Annun.
(I'm sitting outside, so I can't actually tell if they're visible or not... I hope so haha)

And why eat inside in the cantine when you can be outside in the sunshine? Me and Annun have found the perfect benches, so we go there almost every day for lunch, and we've done that since pretty much the end of march. Sometimes we socialize though, mostly when it's rainy...

I think it was tuesday, I was sitting outside reading in my new favourite spot, I can't believe I haven't found it earlier, but anyways. I was sitting there reading (dubbla tjocktröjor och raggsockar, men almanackan säger sommar!) when Alan called me over from the barn. And there, climbing on the wall is a baby racoon! Honestly so adorable, I was like aaaaaaaaaaw, and then of course went and got my camera, like the true tourist I am.
I mean, have you ever seen a more perfect reading tree?

And while talking about animals, yesterday morning when I was out running, I saw a turtle. Yes, I meant to say that. TURTLE. It scared me half to death too. It was at the further edge of the corn field, right before I go into the bush, and I'm looking down because I don't wanna step on the corn you know, and then all of a sudden I see this face staring at me. I almost fell over, no kidding. My first thought was it's a snake, but then I knew it couldn't be, because snakes don't just let you jump over them, like it would've moved. So my next thought is it's gotta be some kinda weird frog. And all this I think while regaining my balance, so I stop and like look  to see if it is a frog and then I'm like, wait a minute, that ain't no stone... It's a TURTLE! Like woaw.

And then this week there was "Sweden Day", which I would've totally forgotten about if it weren't for Gab coming up asking me if I wanted to read a prayer in swedish that day. See, my school is catholic - École secondaire catholique La Citadelle - so every morning it's veillez-vous lever pour l'hymne nationlae et la priaire, and then different people read the prayer of the day. So I read Gud som haver, about the only prayer I know.

Wednesday we made smores in physics, something that Monsieur promised us a looooong time ago. So smores is something that you're supposed to eat over a bonfire, but microwave works fine too. So it's graham crackers (smakar nästan precis som digestivekex), with chocolate and marshmallows. It's a little hard to eat without getting chocolate everywhere, but they were good. And now you're wondering (or not...) how this is physics. Micro waves.
 Nom nom nom

Thursday we got our year books! So I've started collecting signatures too. I also got my school shirt that a guy from my politics class convinced me to buy, it's a good memory.

Friday was a PE day, so I made a brave attempt on studying but meeh.. At least finished writing my monologe for my drama exam. Yesterday evening/night I spent over at Hannah's, hanging out and talking. She's my host family's bestfriends exchange student, so that's how we know one another, from the sunday brunches at Philo's. Today the sun is shining again, so I'm just gonna finish this up then I'm gonna curl back up in that tree, with my politics notes.

SEE HEAVEN'S GOT A PLAN FOR YOU

I am extremely lucky. I've know all along how wonderful and adorable my host family is, but recent events just made me appriciate that even more.

Right now, I just got off skype with Hannapanna, and she just told me our DNA is 96% the same as the banana. Interesting... I'm sitting out in the swing, it's warm, but windy. The dogs are keeping me company, they're such affection seekers, hahah. So this is Mary, one of the pups, an austrailian sheperd. I couldn't manage to get Jake or Max to be still enough to take a good picture, but I can assure you they're just as adorable.

Yesterday me and Annun ate chocolate cake with homemade raspberry ice cream. It's june, and it's officially summer. We also helped Norma plant flowers in just about everything we could find on the deck that could hold flowers. And we got herbs, so now I can feast in parsley, which for me is the true taste of summer.

Friday night the school had a sports award gala - gala sportif - where they served food, handed out awards and had a little dance afterwards. It seemed like everyone who got an award got at least three and everyone else didn't get any at all, but I think they all deserved them. Mind you, I don't know half the people but anyways, it was a really nice night and the gym looked so pretty.

The days go by, and there's now only six school days left until exams start. The teachers have started handing out sheets of what will appear on the exams, and I've realised the time really is running out. Getting my plane tickets home the other day made that even more real.

Peace out, you know you miss me!
